Flower Show

2007 Flower Show Rules

Cost of entry is free with purchase of 2007 Garden Walk and Faire ticket. The Flower Show is open to the public from 9am-5pm.

General Rules

1. Entries will be received on Sunday, June 10, 2007, from 7 A.M. to 9 A.M. at
St. Augustine Church, 285 S. 208 St., Elkhorn, NE. All exhibits will remain until close of show at 5 P.M.
2. Judging by Nationally Accredited Standards will begin at 9 A.M.
3. Any amateur gardener may enter the show.
4. Each exhibitor is limited to one entry per class (section).
5. Flower Show Committee may divide classes if number of entries warrants division.
6. Ribbons will be awarded only if merited:
*First place (blue) scoring 90 or above
*Second place (red) scoring 85 or above
*Third place (white) scoring 75 or above
7. Each Garden Walk visitor will receive a ballot with their ticket to vote on their favorite exhibit. This “People’s Choice Award” will be given at 5 P.M.

Horticulture Rules

1. All entries in Horticulture must have been grown by the exhibitor.
2. Clean, clear glass containers for cut specimens must be furnished by exhibitor.
3. All entries must be properly named. Educational value to the public is increased if botanical name and variety (cultivar), if known, appears on the entry tag.
4. Adhere strictly to each Sections requirements (i.e., number of stems, height restrictions, colors, varieties, etc) or entry will be disqualified and placed in the Non-judged Division.

Design Rules

1. Only fresh plant material is to be used. No artificial or dried flowers, foliage, or fruit are permitted.
2. Plant material need not be grown by the exhibitor, but design must be work of exhibitor.
3. Accessories and bases are permitted in all design classes, but should not be predominant.
4. Flower Show Committee will endeavor to protect all exhibits, but cannot be responsible for loss or damage. Please do not bring valuable containers or accessories.
5. Adhere strictly to each Design Section requirements (i.e., height restrictions, colors, etc) or entry will be disqualified and placed in the Non-judged Division.
